Grandma University - GU

The Next Generation of Learning

Our Symbols
We don't know what the future holds.  But we do know who holds it.

Grandma University "GU" was created in January 2014 from the desire to contribute a little bit to my Granddaughter's education.  I was inspired by a Tedx Talk "Hackschooling Makes Me Happy" from Logan LaPlante to add a little bit of adventure and fun to Parker's learning experience, while spending quality time together.

Every-other Friday, we do something together related to geography, history, science, art or culturally inspired.

Visit "Parker's Place" on our site to see Parker's "homework" from our days.  It may be a one-page paper, a visual display, poem or blog post - you never know what Parker will share or have to say.  Let's see what she comes up with!

With 9 grand-children in the family, many living outside of the state, look for special visiting students, Skype adventures and even "exchange students" being a part of GrandmaU.

At the end of 2014 we plan to have a binder with a full year of "GU" activities and adventures.  We hope you enjoy taking this journey with us!  Have an idea for a GrandmaU outing or learning opportunity - send us a note; we'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas!
